LOS ANGELES — Anne Heche’s “heart is still beating” despite new reports saying that the actor died Friday after a fiery car crash in Mar Vista last week left her in a coma.

“She was declared brain dead last night but has been kept on life support for organ donation,” her representative, Holly Baird, said Friday in an email to the Los Angeles Times.

Sunday's game will be the fourth meeting this season between the two teams. The Liberty won the previous matchup 80-70. Nneka Ogwumike and Arike Ogunbowale meet in a matchup of two of the league's top scorers when Los Angeles and Dallas hit the court. Sunday's game is the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams. The Sparks won the previous matchup 97-89. Los Angeles is 6-11 against the Western Conference, and Dallas is 7-10 against conference opponents.

Connecticut will look for its 25th win this season when the Sun take on the Minnesota Lynx. The teams meet Sunday for the third time this season. Connecticut is 12-5 at home, and Minnesota is 7-10 on the road.

Kelsey Plum and Breanna Stewart square off in a matchup of two of the league's best scorers when Las Vegas and Seattle hit the court. Sunday's meeting will be the fourth of the season between the two teams. Las Vegas is 14-3 against the Western Conference, and Seattle is 10-7 against conference opponents.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema received a $1 million surge of campaign cash over the past year from private equity professionals, hedge fund managers and venture capitalists whose interests she has staunchly defended in Congress. That's according to an Associated Press review of campaign finance disclosures. The revelation comes after the Arizona Democrat single-handedly thwarted her party's long-standing goal of raising taxes on such investors. Sinema says the contributions did not influence her thinking on the matter. But many in her party see Sinema's defense of the favorable tax treatment received by such investors as indefensible.

Longtime minor leaguer Wynton Bernard singled, stole a base and scored in his major league debut, helping the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3. Brian Serven homered, Dinelson Lamet (1-1) pitched a perfect seventh inning for the win and Carlos Estévez worked the ninth for his second save for Colorado. The 31-year-old Bernard toiled in the minors for more than 10 years before having his contract selected by Colorado on Friday. He made it a memorable debut when he helped spark a seventh-inning rally that put the Rockies in front for good. Bernard legged out an infield single after Sam Hilliard started the inning with a double off Chris Devenski (2-1). Bernard stole second, went to third on Charlie Blackmon’s RBI single and scored on a sacrifice fly.

Juan Soto had two hits and got a standing ovation in his return to Washington, and San Diego beat the Nationals 10-5 after Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. was suspended 80 games for a positive drug test. Soto was traded from Washington to San Diego on Aug. 2. The Padres hold the final NL wild-card spot, and general manager A.J. Preller said during the game that Tatis’ suspension doesn’t change his expectations for the season. Soto just missed his second homer with San Diego when he doubled off the right-field wall in the Padres’ seven-run fifth inning. He singled later in the inning to drive in Austin Nola.

The Chinese air force is sending fighter jets and bombers to Thailand for a joint exercise with the Thai military on Sunday. The Chinese Defense Ministry said the training will include air support, strikes on ground targets and small and large-scale troop deployment. China’s growing military activities in the Asia-Pacific region have alarmed the United States and its allies and form part of a growing competition between the world’s two largest economies. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Thailand in June as part of an effort to strengthen what he called America’s “unparalleled network of alliances and partnerships” in the region.
