She usually keeps her family life separate from her job as a celebrity stylist and fashion designer.

Real Housewives of Lagos star Toyin Lawani-Adebayo (40) has decided to open up about health challenges and losing her unborn baby.

Taking to social media, the Lagos-based businesswoman detailed events that led to her losing her baby and thanked everyone who had supported her through the tough time.

“Thanks to everyone who reached out. God bless you all,” she shared.

“Losing an unborn child can be the most difficult trauma to deal with because you would have bonded and started making plans for the future.”

Toyin opened up about her battle with fibroids and detailed the complications of her last pregnancy.

“I have always said I wanted to have just two kids. Then my doctor advised me to take out my womb due to the complications I was having.”

Before her pregnancy, she had some health complications.

“I dealt with a lot, multiple fibroids, surgeries, arthritis, back pains, neck pains, side pains, at times I would literally wake up paralyzed. I wear a neck brace daily but when in public I take it off, too many questions.”

While pregnant with her third child, she developed a cyst and had more health complications.

“Back pains tripled. I got a doctor’s opinion in Nigeria, they said we can’t treat you till you have this baby. Best thing is taking the baby out and we will get you the care you need,” she says.

“At this time I was already attached I said no and went abroad. They managed the situation until I had the baby. Which is why they said I couldn’t have it naturally like my other kids. I got back on my feet in no time.”

She started falling ill again.

“Months after, my legs and bones gave way. The pain was too much, and I went back again abroad. They said my bones were degenerating due to the pressure. At this point, my legs were swollen. I couldn’t walk. This was a few days before my 40th birthday party in Nigeria. I had so many plans for my 40th but I said nothing and opted for prayer for my late mom.”

A few months after her third child was born, she found out she was expecting her fourth child. “This wasn’t planned at all, and hubby and I said not to tell no one because we weren’t sure. Even when my friends said you’re pregnant, I will just laugh about it and say no it’s not there,” she says.

“Unfortunately I got so stressed and depressed, started bleeding as usual because I bleed having all my kids, from day one till due date. So felt it was normal. But it took a huge turn and I lost it,” she says.

“In the process, I heard, I needed spine surgery. I’m like how old am I? Anyways I have lost so many things in life. But I felt this to my bones because it could have been avoided. But I thank God for his mercy upon my life. I never shared this much because I hate showing weakness. But never judge a book by its cover.”

The mother of three says she decided to speak about her health as it might help others.

“I decided to share this side of me you don’t see. It’s been a struggle for years though not today. But I’m glad I have my beautiful kids to make me smile all through the pain and an amazing partner who never leaves my side. He literally bathes me. At times, the smile and jokes you see might be a struggle but won’t stop being that goofy girl y’all love. I promise to continue making y’all smile. Nothing can take that smile away,” she adds.

“If you followed Tiannahs Empire reality show by @moabudu on EbonyLife TV then, I shared some parts of my health journey but stopped due to personal reasons. But I recently realized people can learn from other people’s pain. Your weakness only makes you stronger.”
