Former WWE Champion Big E has a very upsetting update to his fans about his neck injury – he won’t be coming back any time soon.

Injured back in March during an episode of Friday Night SmackDown, former WWE Champion Big E has since then been giving fans constant updates about his neck injury. During a match where he was squaring off against Ridge Holland, Big E suffered a broken neck with fractures on his C1 and C6 vertebrae after a botched Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Thankfully, Big E at the time was in high spirits, no thanks to the fans who continued to support him and sent him well wishes, as well as to fellow wrestlers who came by to visit him in the hospital. Back then, Big E was ruled out for a couple of weeks and was pulled off from the WrestleMania 38 card.

For those desirous of an update, my C1 apparently isn’t healing optimally. I’ll spend another 4-6 weeks in a brace in hopes that I can avoid a fusion. But don’t you fret! I’ve got a tremendous support system & what shall be shall be.

However, more news came in recently showing that Big E might be away for quite a while longer. The 36-year-old Florida native shared an update last Friday on Twitter, saying:

“For those desirous of an update, my C1 apparently isn’t healing optimally. I’ll spend another 4-6 weeks in a brace in hopes that I can avoid a fusion. But don’t you fret! I’ve got a tremendous support system & what shall be shall be,” Big E tweets.

It appears that Big E might be spending a couple more months with a neck brace to prevent his injury from worsening – otherwise, he might end up needing surgery, or worse, have to retire early from his wrestling career. However, it’s very uplifting to see how the former champ continues to be in high spirits, accepting what may come to him with open arms.

While Big E has been away from the ring, his New Day stablemates King Woods and Kofi Kingston continue their rivalry with Ridge Holland, Sheamus, and Butch. The two teams were supposed to have a program that would lead to a blowoff match at WrestleMania 38. However, Big E’s injury has put a halt to those plans. Instead, the New Day often fights the trio of Europeans in a three-versus-two handicap.
