For Curtis Sliwa to fail, it takes more than just a taxi.

On Friday, a yellow taxi crashed into Sliwa in Midtown Manhattan, causing him to fracture his arm and bruise his whole body-but the Republican candidate for mayor wearing a red beret calmly responded.

"I was shot by the mob, recovered, licked back and ticked, and was attacked many times. So this was only within the normal course of my life that brought me," Sliwa was leaving Lenox Hill in the Upper East Side. At the hospital, he said that his left arm was hanging from the sling.

"I'm like a cat with nine lives. I think I have used up my eighth," added the quirky guardian angel founder and animal rights enthusiast, who still wears his iconic red beret .

The accident happened four days before the city’s mayoral election, at the corner of 50th Street and Sixth Avenue, when Sliwa jumped from his campaign van and walked to the studio of the nearby WABC radio station to participate in a talk show.

Bruce Carbonell, the guardian angel who was with Sliwa during the accident, said that his boss was anxious — “he has always been like this” — to go to the studio and didn't want to wait in traffic.

"He ran across the road and banged—the taxi hit him," Carbonell said. "He was spread directly on the concrete. Then he stood up. I said,'Rock, how are you? He said,'We are late, we have to go.'"

Sliwa agrees with this description.

"I ran up in a hurry," he said.

Sliva was considered a long-term goal in Tuesday’s election against Democratic mayoral candidate Eric Adams, and despite the incident, he continued to broadcast the radio show.

"I think what gets me through the radio is that I have so much adrenaline," he said.

After the talk show appeared, Sliva said that he suddenly realized that his arm was "very, very painful, and my head was doing a cartwheel."

His campaign team said in a statement that he was diagnosed at Lenox with a broken left arm, swelling of his left knee, and cuts and bruises on several other parts of his body.

After the accident, Sliwa's campaign cancelled all his Friday activities.

Democratic candidate Eric Adams said he hopes his opponent will not be eliminated for too long.

Adams said on Twitter: "I hope he recovers soon, and I hope to see him return to the game this weekend."

Sliva said he thanked Adams for his blessings and plans to speak at a Republican rally in Staten Island on Saturday.

Rob Cole, Sliwa's campaign adviser, said that taxis are not his boss's opponent. He was injured many times and life-threatening during his time as the guardian angel leader.

"He was shot five times," he said, "so the taxi can't stop him."
