"All-day shopping": Everything you need to host this holiday in a stylish way

Stress usually manifests itself in the form of physical pain, something Dan Levy is not familiar with.

In a new interview with British GQ, the "Schitt's Creek" star revealed that he was so overwhelmed when filming the hit show that he had to wear a neck brace in the sixth season.

"The anxiety on my neck is so severe that I can't move it," he said.

"There used to be an acupuncturist and a chiropractor to arrange my neck at lunch every day so that I can actually perform, not, you know, it looks like I need a neck brace."

The 38-year-old Levy is one of the main actors of this hit show, but he is also the screenwriter and host of the show, so in the six years of filming, he shouldered a lot of responsibilities. He told GQ that he did not have any social life during that time and that he would rehearse and write before 5 in the morning, supervise the wardrobe and make decisions. During the day, he would switch gears to review budgets, directors, and performances, then go home to have a snack, and then write some more until 2 am.

"I didn't sleep more than eight hours," he said of his schedule during some particularly busy weeks.

Of course, things are not always so busy, but once the show becomes popular, Levi's schedule becomes even more tense.

"Because the more shows we produce, the more proud I am of it. The more I want to create more engaging and dimensional stories, the more we want to expand our world," he said.

This is what the star reflected in the Netflix documentary "Best Wishes, Warmest Greetings: Farewell to Hitt River" when he talked about the pressure to continue to increase the bet.

"It's funny because I think the degree of notoriety that the show has achieved in the past year has changed. I remember people asking me,'Do you feel the pressure that people expect when you write? Last season? I was at the time. Think,'Well, luckily we have already written it,'" he said. "So it came at the right time, because, you know, when the New York Times reported your show in such a positive way, it was like, what happened here?"

In a chat with British GQ, Levy also discussed the dynamics of cooperation with his father Eugene Levy and sister Sara Levy, who are the co-stars of the series.

"This brings us closer professionally," he said. "But when we were doing the show, a lot of conversation was consumed by it."

While making the show, the actor wrote a diary, which he filled with his random meditations from time to time, and he said that he had been focusing on turning one of his ideas into reality: a romantic comedy about a gay couple. This 38-year-old young man is currently writing this film and wants to direct it.

"I always wanted to do (a rom-com)," he said. "I have always wanted to be one. As a gay, you will never get an opportunity like this. You can play as a funny friend or Pepe’s colleague. So I’m really excited and honored to have this opportunity: bring a gay Placed in the front and center of the romantic comedy."
